City Harbor Self Titled Album Review

Hailing from Nashville Tennessee, Molly Reed and Robby Earle make up the new pop/worship band City Harbor. The band released their self titled debut album today! You can even get it on iTunes!

Th album starts off with the song "Like I Am", and this song introduces you to City Harbor's fun pop sound, while setting the stage for the rest of the album. Next is the album single "Come However You Are", which has been played on K-LOVE a lot recently, as well as many other Christian radio stations. The song is very catchy and easy to sing a long with, offering listeners a message of hope and love.

The Story Behind "Come However You Are"

The whole album really has a message that is encouraging and helpful to people who are hurting and feel  broken. With this album City Harbor reminds people that they are loved and cared for in Christ, and no matter what baggage they bring, we are all valuable in the eyes of Jesus. So for that reason I really love the message and theme running throughout the album.

Musically this album is pretty solid. The album has a fun pop sound that just sound joyful, the happiness really is contagious. Their are also some fun beats that make you want to tap you feet, my favorite being on the song "Heartbeats". There are also some great vocals on the album, from both Molly Reed and Robby Earle. Top it off with some beautiful harmonies, and you can tell that the vocals really compliment each other.

All in all, I really enjoyed this album! For a classic pop album City Harbor pretty much nailed it. However my only negative is that while the songs are all great, and the album doesn't even blur together, the songs sound too similar. City Harbor has a great sound, but it sounds similar to other pop artists. Myself, I was hoping for something a little different. Something that stood out and didn't quite fit the mold, I didn't really find that on this album.

I would give this album 3.5 stars.
