This weeks Independent Artist Of The Week is "The Protest". They were suggested for me to check out and I really liked there sound so I thought I would share them withe you guys as well. Below is a little bit about them from their Facebook page.

"The Protest has set out to make a major impact in the music industry and to spread the word of God through their high energy music and live show. The band believes that as Christians we should “protest” for God’s truth.

The Protest has toured with national acts like The Letter Black, Icon For Hire, Sent By Ravens, Nine Lashes, Decyfer D

own, as well as opened for Fireflight, Disciple, Spoken, Brian "Head" Welch, Family Force 5, and The Wedding. Playing an average of 150+ shows a year, The Protest has headlined stages at Ichthus Festival, Rockfest, Agape Fest and scheduled for Cornerstone and Lifest. They have performed in front of 20,000 students with Bill Ballenger on the “Break The Grey” tour across the Midwest.

“EPIC!” – Josh Kincheloe (Icon For Hire)

The Protest worked with Grammy nominated and Dove Award winning producer Travis Wyrick, and Mark Anthony of The Letter Black on their debut album "Game Changer" which features Noah Henson of Pillar and Brian Noah of Disciple.

“Real Rocking Stuff!!” – Taylor Carroll (Pillar, The Letter Black)

The Protest has spread their music and message on several Christian Radio programs like ChristianRock.net, ChristianHardRock.net, TheBlast.FM, Lightforce Radio, Righteous Radio, Reign Radio, The Freakshow WJCF Radio, BaconRock Radio, and hit #1 on Arise Radio’s Top 20 in Nashville Tennessee above artists like Jaci Valesquez, Dierks Bentley, The Crabb Family, and Whitney Houston. They have held the top spot for several weeks on Fuel Radio FM with "Chambers" along with "Don't Waste Time", "Throw The Roses" and "In The Air Tonight" hitting the top 10.

The Protest never slows down and always brings an aggression above the standard, taking their message to the masses. The Protest headlined several shows at Superbowl XLVI in Indianapolis, IN. They also won the highly anticipated Piere's Musical Warfare 2011 in Ft. Wayne IN and earned the honor to open for Tesla at that same venue. Piere's is one of the Midwest’s largest concert venues hosting bands like Anthrax, Godsmack, Creed, REO Speedwagon, Keith Urban, Kid Rock, 3 Doors Down, Hinder, Disturbed, Five Finger Death Punch, and Sevendust.

The Protest guarantees an intense rock show and a positive message. Their goal is to minister to the masses through their music."

Below is a music video for their song "We Will Rise". For being an indie band they have a pretty sweet video!
